This past weekend, Activision held a Call of Duty tournament, but the best competitive player was glaringly absent from the lineup. Doug “Censor” Martin conveyed the news that the publisher had prohibited him from competing in Fortune’s Keep in a tweet that has since been deleted.
The reason given was that the publisher believed he had “harassed” Nadia Amine. The decision most likely pertains to an incident that occurred not too long ago in which Martin live-streamed a sham proposal of marriage to her.
Activision is the company that is running the official competition known as Call of Duty League Resurgence: Fortune’s Keep.

It is a public tournament, meaning that every player has the opportunity to sign up and compete against other pros for the chance to win money from a prize pool of one hundred thousand dollars. Activision even invited big esports figures like Andrew “Biffle” Diaz, Joshua “Mayappo” Uriah, and Jordan “Huskerrs” Thomas to compete in the competition, which took place on October 15 and 16.
Nadia Amine is one of the Call of Duty streamers on Twitch who is currently rising at the fastest rate, and recently, she has been receiving a great deal of attention for all of the wrong reasons. The Call of Duty community just can’t seem to let go of the accusation that she cheated in Warzone. Because of this, when Martin stated that he would reveal cheats in Vanguard, the community conspired to put Amine in the line of fire. It was a stretch considering that Warzone and Vanguard are two very distinct games.
Martin’s response could not have been less kind if it had tried. Despite the fact that he had mentioned Amine in multiple tweets leading up to the video, he uploaded a video in which he said that he was not attempting to expose her. Instead of leaving things as they were, he decided to end the clip by filming a phony proposal to her for marriage. The community of Call of Duty had an exceedingly negative reaction to the ploy, and it appeared that Activision was also unimpressed by it.
Martin stated, in a tweet that has since been deleted, that he was banned from Fortune’s Keep for “harassing” Amine, who had participated in the competition. Amine had been a competitor in the event. He wrote, “To tell you the truth, I find that to be very hilarious.” Kotaku reached out to both Martin and Activision for further clarification prior to the article’s publication, but neither party had responded at the time of the article’s release.
He stated that he was trying to “affirm Nadia as the content genius she is” five minutes before he sent the tweet out by saying that he was trying to do so. I mean, he might have gone about it in a way that was less embarrassing to himself and others. But you do you, Martin. I sincerely hope that the influence was worth the effort.
